I like the way that a story is told from the start through a book. I would like to incorporate this idea in my final piece. I would like to keep it as simple but at the same time have a lot of charisma. My nephew made up the story, so I would like to keep the idea of a child reading the story from a storybook. Also my strong point is illustration so I wanted to in keep with that.

Practice run ideas for final piece
Just as I had thought...because of all other projects, I found myself with little time which I knew was never going to be enough to do a stop-motion drawing animation. So I took myself done another root...watching some different films, there was an idea that I liked. This idea came from Disney films, my favorites such as 'Cinderella' & 'Snow White'

Final animation
My nephew made up the story, so I would like to keep the idea of a child reading the story from a storybook. Also my strong point is illustration so I wanted to in keep with that. If I had to do it again, I would probably do film. I possibly regret doing film at the start.

DEVELOPMENT
So instead of making an animation & putting audio to it afterwards, i'm working backwards & creating the animation to go with the audio that I have recorded first.
I have recorded my nephew James telling one of his made up stories.
For his age he is very good at making up stories, he gets very dramatic with his voice & accents that he comes out with, he's quite a character. I'm hoping to put a stop-motion drawing to his story, something like the style Minilogue/hitchhikers choice video in my research.
I like the continuous style and the simplicity of this video. I goes nicely with the audio and its maybe something I may incorporate in my style of piece.

RESEARCH
I think it's interesting that this video is a still image of a man and stop motion drawings to portray his thought. This is similar to my idea as I am trying to portray James imagination. I like the use of sand, it's interesting and fresh to see stop motion drawing can be used with different material such as sand rather than the obvious paper or whiteboard.
RESEARCH
When I seen this video I thought of how I could use this style in my animation. I thought about my nephew James and because his stories are so abstract, I could have a stop motion drawing. Adding to it the detailed imagery in his story. So in the end an interesting illustration of his story would be left over.

RESEARCH
A guy called Kristofer Stรถm made this stop-motion for Minilogue. Minilogue are a Swedish Progressive House/Tech-House/Minimal Techno music project of Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson. This stop-motion is all done on a whiteboard with no undo or redo. So it must have been very time consuming. I like this style, and if I have enough time to practice, I may use this style for my final piece.
